It is a comparison app! different to my other app PowerBill.

Compare helps you accurately review the rates and prices of retailer plans using your consumption figures to tailor your calculation exactly.

Compare is different to other apps because it focuses on the best deal for you personally instead of generalising the consumption figures and disregarding when and how you use your electricity.

What you are doing is calculating the price of the bill for the 2 different sets of rates, to compare against each other. This will give you a 100% realistic and accurate comparison because you are using your recent and actual usage data.

This way you know when you compare the 2 plans against each other you are comparing with exactly how you use your devices across the days, weeks and months. So it is 100% specific to you. 

Step 1
Calculate your Usage Costs (Bill amount) with the app PowerBill.
Export the results and feed it into one of the Compare app browse/upload windows.

Step 2
Go back to the PowerBill app and enter the rates of the plan you wish to compare against.
If you are comparing 2 x Time of Use plans, the rate types for to each hour remain the same.
If you are comparing 1 x Time of Use plan and 1 x Single rate plan, update the rate type so only one covers all the hours. (Hint: use the Offpeak ‘Selectors’ and ‘Entry field’).

This Compare app is the only service that allows you to compare Apples and Oranges, and have the result makes sense!

Generalisation on consumption can be misleading.

‘Compare’ does not do this.

For instance, some plans are rated as being cheaper than others because the comparison uses a generalised usage total of 3900 kWh assumed to be at one rate for all 3900 kWh’s –   because they are not using your actual data that gives the right result for you.

But when you use the rates applicable to the breakdown of your ‘actual’ kWh’s usage total (let’s still use the 3900 for this example), you actually get a different result.

Try it for yourself and see. Plug in the figures of the currently advertised plans (into this Compare app) from the comparison websites and you will see the difference.
